GRAY returns to Art Basel Miami Beach for its 2025 edition with presentations in the Galleries and Kabinett sectors. In the Galleries sector, Booth H9, GRAY features a curated selection of artists from its Modern and Contemporary program, including works by Magdalena Abakanowicz, Candida Alvarez, McArthur Binion, Roger Brown, Alexander Calder, Jim Dine, Torkwase Dyson, Theaster Gates, Richard Hunt, Alex Katz, Judy Ledgerwood, Joan Mitchell, Jaume Plensa, Leon Polk Smith, Evelyn Statsinger, John Stezaker, and Bob Thompson.
For the Kabinett sector, GRAY presents a focused installation of Roger Brown’s Virtual Still Lifes (1995–97). A central figure of the Chicago Imagists, Brown merged painting and assemblage to stage theatrical vignettes of American life — part satire, part spiritual allegory. Combining oil paintings with ceramics and miniature objects, these works blur the line between landscape and still life, between reality and illusion. Rendered with Brown’s characteristic wit and precision, the Virtual Still Lifes reflect on the domestic theater of collecting and the subtle surrealism embedded in everyday things. GRAY announced its representation of the estate of Roger Brown in November 2025, and this presentation will precede a solo exhibition opening Spring 2026.
