GRAY is pleased to participate in the Galleries sector of the 2023 edition of Art Basel, with key works from its program of eminent Modern and contemporary artists: Jean Arp, McArthur Binion, Jean Dubuffet, Torkwase Dyson, Theaster Gates, Arshile Gorky, David Hockney, Alex Katz, Joan Mitchell, Pablo Picasso, Jaume Plensa, Richard Serra, Leon Polk Smith, Evelyn Statsinger, and Bob Thompson.
Highlights from the presentation include an exemplary 1970s Alex Katz painting of his muse Ada; Theaster Gates’s In Recognition of our Bleeding Nation, a 4.5m Civil Tapestry work made from rusty-red decommissioned fire hoses; a painting from McArthur Binion’s most recent visual:ear series; and an Elevation series painting by Torkwase Dyson, who recently debuted major public projects at Desert X, Counterpublic in St Louis, and the Liverpool Biennial of Contemporary Art. Among other highlights, the booth features a 1985 painting by David Hockney, historic drawings by Arshile Gorky and Pablo Picasso, and a landmark 1960s painting by Bob Thompson.
