GRAY is pleased to participate in the inaugural edition of ART SG, Singapore, with a curated selection of works from the gallery’s Modern and Contemporary program. The presentation will feature gallery artists including McArthur Binion, Jim Dine, Jean Dubuffet, Theaster Gates, David Hockney, Alex Katz, David Klamen, Roy Lichtenstein, Jim Lutes, Pablo Picasso, Jaume Plensa, Leon Polk Smith, and Evelyn Statsinger.
Highlights include a selection of iPad paintings from David Hockney’s latest series of works 20 Flowers And Some Bigger Pictures; paintings by Alex Katz whose retrospective exhibition is on view at the Guggenheim Museum in New York; and a Civil Tapestry and ceramic work by Theaster Gates. Gates’s ceramic works were the focus of his recent participation in the 2022 Aichi Triennale in Tokoname Japan and central to his current solo exhibition at the New Museum in New York.
For PLATFORM, a curated sector of the fair which features dynamic, large-scale installations, GRAY will present four bronze portraits by Jaume Plensa: Carlota (oak), Julia (oak), Laura Asia (oak), and Wilsis (oak). Plensa is lauded for his public installations around the world, which includes his 2011 figurative sculpture Soul installed at the Ocean Financial Center in Singapore.
Founded in 1963, GRAY is located in Chicago and New York. The gallery is known internationally for Modern and contemporary art, representing some of the most significant artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.
