GRAY is pleased to participate in the 2022 edition of EXPO Chicago, presenting major works from its program of eminent contemporary and Modern artists, including Harry Bertoia, McArthur Binion, Suzanne Caporael, Jim Dine, Torkwase Dyson, Theaster Gates, Ewan Gibbs, Rashid Johnson, Alex Katz, David Klamen, Ellen Lanyon, Jim Lutes, Jaume Plensa, Richard Serra, Leon Polk Smith and Evelyn Statsinger.
For the EXPO Projects sector, GRAY will present Hortensia, 2020, a large-scale sculpture by Spanish artist, Jaume Plensa. Carved out of white Vietnamese marble and standing over 10ft tall, Hortensia depicts the portrait of a young subject with her eyes closed. Depicted in a state of serenity, Hortensia expresses the artist's ongoing interest in evoking quiet contemplation and the universality of the human condition.
