Richard Gray Gallery is pleased to present a live musical performance by The Lincoln Trio, a Chicago-based ensemble made up of Desirée Ruhstrat, violin, David Cunliffe, cello, and Marta Aznavoorian, piano. The Trio will perform Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires) by Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla – a composition which was debuted in 1970 and is a prime example of Piazzolla’s Tango Nuevo (New Tango) style. The performance takes place at the gallery in a direct correlation to David Hockney’s exhibition Time and More, Space and More… which features the iconic multi-part video installation The Four Seasons, Woldgate Woods, 2010-2011. Founded in 2003, the GRAMMY nominated Lincoln Trio is internationally renowned for their exemplary presentations of chamber works and have performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. The Lincoln Trio has completed residencies at the Music Institute of Chicago, San Francisco State University, University of Wisconsin Madison, SUNY Fredonia and is currently the artist-inresidence at the MERIT School of Music.
